DESCRIPTION:It is important to maintain a healthy balance between work\, home\, school\, and personal life to improve work performance and personal relationships. While work can be stressful\, it is important to advocate and maintain your mental wellness within the workplace. In this Mental Health in the Workplace workshop\, you will learn appropriate coping tools to practice self-care and maintain work-life balance\, how to locate resources within your workplace and in the community to promote positive mental health\, and how to appropriately advocate for yourself within the work culture. \nThis program is geared towards ages 16-26. This workshop supports building character for success\, and you will be able to identify the characteristics needed to increase your social-emotional literacy\, assess your needs and how to manage positive outcomes\, and practice how to maintain healthy environments and relationships while tackling life’s tough decisions. SUMMARY:OWL: Suicide Prevention for Survivors of Suicide
DESCRIPTION:Suicide is the 10th cause of death in Georgia. For each suicide\, there are roughly 25 attempted suicides and up to 230 individuals who have serious thoughts of suicide. SUMMARY:QPR: Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Question\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is an educational program designed to teach gatekeepers-those who are strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide (e.g.\, parents\, friends\, neighbors\, teachers\, coaches\, caseworker\, police officers)-the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond by following three steps: Question the individual’s desire or intent regarding suicide\, persuade the person to seek and accept help\, and refer the person to appropriate resources.
