Malia is a native of Chicago, Illinois. During her college years, she noticed the under-representation of mental health in communities and knew that she wanted to make a difference. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University, she has spent her entire career dedicated to teen and youth mental health. She started her mental health career at Peachford Hospital as a lead mental health technician where she found her love for advocating for children and teens with behavioral and mental disorders. She has also worked at Veritas Collaborative where she assisted youth to overcome eating disorders. Malia stays active in her community by volunteering with non-profits and organizing events. She now serves as the Young Adult Program Specialist and passionately continues to assist youth and young adults step into their purpose.
